A quest for the perfect hunting seat...continues!

Hey Guys, I'm on a quest for the perfect hunting seat. I ground hunt in Southern Zone NY. Mostly sitting but move around a little bit in the afternoon. Usually hunt within a 1/2-3/4 of a mile from my car. I'm a weekend hunter usually. Hunt in all types of weather. We have a long season 10/15-12/31, bow only.
Looking for something I can sit on and be comfortable on for 4-5 hours at a time. Looking for a comfortable seat, light weight, easy set up. I also like shooting from a seated position.

I've made seats, bought folding stools on the cheap. Looking for something good that will not break the bank.

My butt and back will thank you guys for any advise.

It is difficult to know what is comfortable for someone else and sitting 4 to 5 hours comfortably means a lazy bow recliner for many. As for the light weight, easy set-up as well as easy carrying and more, the nifty seat has it all in spades.

I use the basic design from Dean Torge's website but with a different tie system. It hooks around a tree and can be slung over your shoulder when still-hunting. Set it at a height so your knees are below our hips. You can then stand without leaning forward first and your circulation is better.

1/2" ply by 14" wide.

Added a foam pad because I'm a wuss.

Roll-A-Chair.

Not camo, but danged comfy. Use them in a blind and with the fold up back rest... did well.

Over-built.

I have found nothing better than this seat here,,,, everybodys back rest is different so you simply place it just far enough from the tree to be the correct backrest.

I also use it free standing when I'm in a blind,,, NO NOISE while turning 360 degrees to shoot or follow anythign walking by,,,, I tie bow hoist rope or para cord to mine and I leave it in the correct height I like and just sling it around my back to walk in and out.

You really need to consider the Waldrop Pac Seat--I have owned every type of seat/chair made for hunting and this one is hands down the best, esp. for what you are describing.

Same. Ground hunter at heart here, and have used everything out there.

Roaming, Sitting for 30 minutes or 5 hours, the Waldrop PacSeat is by far the best in the industry.

I have yet to find a place that I wanted to tuck into, that this seat couldn't conform to...

I just got one of those Timber Ridge Magnum blind chairs as a gift. Cabela's has them on sale right now.
Spent a couple hours in it last Saturday and it was a pretty comfortable. It sits taller than most stools/chairs and was easy to shoot my longbow from. (In practice, not at anything else yet...)

I feel like the perfect hunting seat is about as alusive as the perfect quiver. You need more than one to fit the occasion.

I have used the one stumpkiller drew out for you....works good, I'm leaning towards a Waldrop pac-seat. Tried to order one today but could not get threw on the phone. I have also used the Hunters Smart seat made in Vermont....you can google it to see it. that works well also. I'm good for about 3 hours then I have to stretch or move before my knees start to lock up....lol!

Yes Ray and I both use the HunterSeat, after I put a little more cushion for the glutes. Its a pretty good seat.

Hunterseat is amazing. Not sure about 4-5 hours, but....easy to set, solid, and quiet. Maybe the extra padding suggested would help. Made in the U.S.A. and is reasonable @$40.

I looked at the Huntersseat when I was down to Ray's, but I thought it was a bit heavy if you had to go very far. It is well made and very well priced, I don't know about 4-5 hours....lol!
