Hi gang. I have a buddy that wants to switch from the dark side to traditional, using his dads old bow.

He asked me to  get his Green 52" AMO, 55# Magnum up and running.

This bow needs a new string, and a recommended brace height. Any information from the experienced would be appreciated.

Thanks

gonzoso

String needs to be about 49" long, brace height of 7.5 to 8 inches makes mine shoot well.

Kodiak Magnum is a nice bow.

It's a tight string angle, some say it would make a bad beginner trad bow because it's so short, but for me I got mine after shooting my Samick Sage for 2 months and I took to it like a duck to water!

Not sure of my string length, but brace seems good around 7-3/4" for me.  Mine is green and 55# as well.

Dacron B-50 for me. Mine is a 76' K mag. My brace height is at 8" and shoots good.

I was just playing with mine and made a new string last night.  14 strands dacron b-50 at a hair under 48" gets me a sweet shooting bow at 8 1/4" brace height.
