I'm a Texas boy born and raised and have been getting more and more into hunting now the next step is getting me a deer and of coarse its going to be trad style with my long bow.

My question for the other fellow Texans is how do you hunt in Texas with your bows?

Ground, stand, tree stand, spot and stalk however

I understand that it is preference but sometimes it is better to hunt certain ways so I would like to know where you are hunting and what approach you take.

Good question. I typically will hunt from trees in areas that have a heavier amount of traffic due to terrain funnels.  If there are no trees, then I hunt out of a natural ground blind. The area I hunt has no crops or other planted fields, so funnels of any type is what I aim for in the woods.

North, South, East,West or central?

Terrain changes a lot depending on area.

I hunt central and east. I ground blind central because they are more predictable and still hunt East (sit for 30 minutes and move to new location very slowly, then sit for a 30 minutes and move to new location very slowly)

All the above. Whatever works at the time. KNow your terrain & animal movements, play the wind, shoot straight, & you;re in good shape.

Yep that is a broad question for such a broad geographic difference.

Each hunt is different, so should be the way You hunt. If there is trees that a stand can go on and it is to thick to hunt from ground... Go up a tree..

If You are out west and there is No trees, You can only hunt from the ground, Build a blind or spot/stalk.

There is No set rule when it comes to hunting in Texas, Other then Be safe and have Fun..

As a new hunter, I would recommend either treestand with very good cover or a popup blind brushed in very good.  That way you can make learning mistakes and still have an oppurtunity to get shots.

Don't limit yourself to one stand or blind if your hunting private land.  The deer learn you there pretty fast so having more then one place keeps them guessing.

I use ladderstands a lot and often move them to the hot feeding areas.

I hunt ladder stand, pop ups, blinds and what ever the deer allows me to use and still be able to harvest a mature deer. It will depend on the terrain and amount of cover available.

I mainly bowhunt whitetail deer, feral hogs and javelina.

For deer and feral hogs, I prefer a ground blind. Either a natural or a man made commercial popup.

But, when it comes to javelina, I like being mobile. I like to spot and stalk them. With this method, one has to be conscious of the wind direction.

I like sitting in a tree so I can see more terrain, although I do plan on trying my ghillie suit on the ground as it gets colder. Pop ups and box blinds are ok, but I get claustrophobic after a while.
