Hello all,
I am new here and my name is Dylan. I live in a small town in north central Washington called Omak. Been shooting a trad bow for a month and already selling my compound bow.  I haven't seemed to have found a good traditional bow shop yet though and was curious what bow shops you all know about on this side of the mountain.
thanks,
Dylan

Be patient waiting for a response and post this in the
Trad bow hunters of Washington area at the bottom of the main page.   Folks from the east side of the state will fill you in.

Dylan,
I'm sure you must have visited Richard Caryl at Cascade Outfitters in Omak.  His shop is a bit on the high tech side-most are-but he's a real good guy who was learning to build self bows at the Traditional Bowhunters of Washington's WAJAM in Cashmere in July of this year.  I saw him again at the jamboree in Packwood in August, and I'm certain he was shooting a traditional bow there.

The TBW is a great state organization to follow. Please join and attend their events.  I am part of a new club in North Central Washington: the Wenatchi River Traditional Archers.  We are a small group right now, but beginning to know we have a place.  I plan a post on the TBW forum at the bottom of the main page about our group. To answer your question, I have not found a "good" traditional shops east of the mountains ...although there certainly may be some. I usually purchase supplies from the better mail order dealers, and buy 100 at a time, so I can distribute smaller quantities to local trad archers when they need them.

We would welcome you to join our club.  We need enthusiastic new traditional archers.  I will be in Omak for business in the next several weeks, so PM your phone number and email address, and maybe we can get together for a bit.

Hello Dylan, I live in southwest Wa but have passed thru Omak to hunt further northeast. Welcome to trad gang. Don't know about shops on the east side, but I've found alot of items here in the classifieds. Many good folks here.

Welcome Dylan,  I am over in the SW part of the state and there are not many Trad shops here either.I do most of my shopping online. Check the sponsors list and you will find some great people to deal with...PR

Welcome to Washington and the Gang.
With the number of trad shops in this state you just have to become self sufficent.
I do most shopping on line.

Hey you live in an Area many of us would love to be in.... The shop mentioned in Omak is a great shop but not much for the trad types... Do go in and check out the self bows he is making...

TBW will have a large 3 day Shoot North of Moses Lake off of Stratford Road. We refer to it as "The Rock Shoot" for good reason   :wavey:    :coffee:

Hi Dylan, Welcome!  I am new to the trad sport as well.  I am over here in Spokane and I have had great luck getting started with the Whitetail Pro Plus Shop up in Deer Park.  Good guys.  Anyhow hope to talk to you soon and compare notes as we get going.

LE Carrol, I will also check out the Medical Lake Shop.  Thanks for the tip - also, I hope you don't mind if I PM you a queston or two as I fumble around getting started with my bow.  I posted an intro down on the WA State Forum last night but not a lot of traffic there, I guess.  THanks!

Can't believe it... I lived in Pasco (Tri-Cities) for 4 years, but was not doing any bowhunting at the time.  Sounds like I missed out on a lot.

I have been to cascade outfitters and will have to check out some of his bows. That moses lake shoot I will have to check out though.
Yeah I am very luck to be where I and being an enrolled Colville Tribal member I am even more fortunate. We have a hunting season of 6 months on whitetail and Mule deer. Also the month of September for elk which is my passion.
As i figured i will most likely be getting most of my info off this site but am glad because the people here seem very helpful.
