Or do you also are reluctant to order a bow from someone when it take them 3-4 to answer an email?

I have been shopping around for a bow from various bowyers and I will email them with a question and some respond right away and some take 3-4 days to get back to me. To me it just appears that the ones that respond right away is on top of things and eager for the business.

Is it just me?

I would be doubtfull also. Every time I contact a bowyer I get a response that day.

I would not judge by email response. A lot of people do not use email as their primary communication tool. I know people that go weeks without looking at email. Please call them.

This time of year they are probably out hunting.  I am a salesperson and I am taking a vacation next week to hunt, anyone who emails me next week will not get a reply until the following week.

If they have an email address as a means of contact on their website I have to assume that they would check it and respond to it regularly.

KentuckyTJ

I wouldn't read much into it either. I have ordered bows from some bowyers that take a week or more to respond via email. Believe it or not not all folks use it much.

Unless you are dealing with an older boyer I would expect them to be connected.  However, some only build bows part time and have full time jobs, families and other commitments.  Still 3-4 days is a long time.  Unless of course it is hunting season.  That is a good excuse to be away from your e-mail.  I have never dealt with a boyers who took that kind of time to get back to me.

If the reason for not returning emails is because of hunting, that is acceptable.    :archer:

People do have businesses to run but in these days of instant communication we think it has to be now. It used to take days to get answers thru the mail. Now... We think bad of people for not responding to email when in fact like is stated above. Not everyone basis their business model on the net...

I answer first day if I get an email. Butttttttttttttt you have not emailed me. LOl
Like everyone said, bowhunting season. sometimes there are legitimate reasons for being away from a computer. Perhaps that or those bowyers even notified that they were going to be gone and you just did not get the notice. Perhaps.  Maybe its just not meant to be.

God bless you, Steve

I remember when I wanted to order a bow from America ... I'd write a letter , post it and hope for a responce ! lol

I have to say that I have had excellent response from everyone I've tried to contact. Recently had a question for Chad Francis. I called and his wife said he wasn't home. Ten minutes later I got a text message with the answer to my question. What do you want to bet he was out in a cornfield chasing a big 7 x 7 whitetail?

Hope you get him Chad.

most custom bowyers are the sole chief cook and bottle washer, one man shows and more than a few are part time bowyers.  then factor in the time of year.

whenever possible, call, don't email.

check into any bowyer's track record - do your part, spend the time to let yer mouse do the scampering around the web and find out as much as possible, and do talk to others who've used that bowyer.

above all, base yer decisions on fact and not hearsay.

X2 Felix, Bill is one of the best communicators during the whole process and it doesn't quit after he has your money which is impressive.
