I  have  50  pound holm made longbow.   I am shooting at a little  over 27 inch  and 45 pounds ,  29 inch arrow What arrows would shoot the best    out of this bow.  what size and  weight. wood , aluminum or carbon. thanks  for the help

What do you want to shoot, wood, alu, carbon??

I'd try some gold tip 35/55 with weight tube and 200 gr points, left 30" long.

I don't think anybody chooses wood for ultimate performance . . . but I don't know why folks use aluminum or carbon.    :D

I use carbon because of the toughness of them and mostly because I don't have time to make sure the wood arrows are still straight after I shoot them.

But charlie, just for you, I do use traditional carbon so at least they look like wood arrows and I still have the cool factor going on.

Use the stu miller calculator and foot your arrows.

1916s or 2014s ought to be about right on, 2016s with 190+ total point weight.
