A buck I named "Contender" only because he was never the biggest buck I'd get a picture of in this area.

Same area roamed by the buck called "Lucky". Haven't gotten "Lucky's" picture yet this year, but if he's still around, I believe he'll have his hands full with this guy.

Keep in mind, I've never laid eyes on this buck in the 3 yrs. I've gotten these pix and hunted the area...

In 2009 as a 2.5yr. old...
•

Then last year as a 3.5yr. old...in velvet...
•

Last year again in October...
•

Now just last week(month on camera is off by one month) as a tank 4.5yr old!
•
•
•

I'd set this camera last Wed. in the rain, after getting rained out at work. I found some rubs, then a giant rub. I set the cam, then left.

Yesterday morning I hunted the spot(the tree I climbed is actually in the backround of the pic).I have a stand set about 70yds. away, but yesterday used my climber..didn't see a thing.

So I got down and switched cards in the cam, and got home to find those last 3 pix!

Hopewell Tom

Real nice to know there's something like that in your hunting grounds. As the Wensels say the trail cam shows "what's on the menu".
Just got psyched by the Lunar forecast thread. How did the daylight pics jibe with the tables for that area?

Wow he looks downrite western. Cool how that brow tine maintained the little flip in his new antlers.

KentuckyTJ

Very nice Curt. Fun to watch them mature. Best of luck with him and I sure wouldn't want to be that deer.
