I am looking for a nice decent priced youth longbow to buy for my son for Christmas this year. I thought this would be the best place to get opinions on who makes a good youth bow and what size I should go with. My boy is gonna be 7 and he is pretty big for his age about 4'5" and weighs around 82 pounds with big long arms for a little guy. I would appreciate any help ya'll could give me on picking the right draw weight and length as well as a good bow maker to contact about buying a bow.

This is my first season hunting with a longbow and my boy says he wants to get rid of his compound and shoot a longbow like old dad. Thanks in advance for any help.

Dan Toelke makes a youth bow version of his excellent Whip d/r long bow. He would be the one to call for advice concerning bow length/weight etc..  www.montanabows.com  (406) 253-4949

Without question... Look into Maddog Bows. Mike makes one sweet bow for adults and kids.

Check out Sarrels bows, Bob is a sponsor here and my grandkids love their Litte Newt bows from Sarrels...

Schafer Silvertip makes a longbow Cub for youths. I've had three in the past for my kids. Reasonable price too. Its not listed on the website, you've gotta mention it.Here is Tom many moons ago shooting his with his self taught three fingers under style.Cocobolo riser, zebrawood limbs.
