Look at the deer in the background of the last pict. Do they have the antlers on backwards?

TJ I think that is some sort of  china deer.  I saw it at the zoo.  joe

Impressive, are they not?  Moose is on my "before I die" bowhunting list.

As far as skeleton hunting - I opt for this one.

11 foot antler width! (Extinct Irish Elk)

Pere David aren't extinct, you can hunt them in Texas.

kibok&ko

they are extinct in their natural habitat look and read the link above you 'll know everything about them and why know you can see and hunt some if them in texas ! The last Père David's Deer that remained in China were eaten in 1900 or 1901 by Western and Japanese troops during the suppression of the Boxer Rebellion.  That left the deer extinct in its native China.

fortunatly, today , cos of zoo or park population far from china you have now  some re introduction programs in the native area of this deer

Pay attention to how far forward the leg bones are as well as the base of the shoulder blade. (Also to how massive they are).  You can aim straight up the front leg and there is nothng in the way but lungs and heart.
