The Dorado and GM are exceptional bows at any price and will outperform many bows that are twice the price. They are built like tanks and will last forever as well.

I have a 21" excel with Win Ex limbs. It's a sweet shooter. Set it up to shoot off the shelf.

I have shot the Hoyt Gamemaster and do not like the stock limbs. I really like it with Win Ex Limbs though.

I would recommend that you look into one of the many metal ILF risers.   Limb options are unlimited and they are very tunable and you could probably get more bang for your buck vs some of the other bows mentioned.

I just took my first foray into the metal riser recurve arena.  I got a 15" sky archery Riser and put a set of windstorm carbon limbs on it.  I got it all tuned up and its as quiet as any of my other bows now.  It is much heavier but its absolutely dead in the hand at the shot.  I even put a stabilizer on.   I was really fighting the stabilizer because I have made fun of my compound shooting friends for years about them.     It really quieted the bow and balances it out.    I hate to say it but its one of the better shooting bows that I have, definitely the most forgiving.

You can get into a setup like mine for under $500 and some of the tradtch combos even cheaper.

Question for you guys doing the metal riser, ilf limb combo. How do you figure out string length? Just a thought I had when I was looking up parts on the web last night.

I got three hoyts 2 buffalos and a dorado the dorado is a bit quietet it seems. However they all shoot great and are definitely a step above the PSE stuff.

from my exsperience stay well away from the pse kingfisher. i had  of them for bowfishing. each of them had major limb warpage. i ended u trading for a martin jaguar. overall its not a bad bow. i use mine only for bowfishing as i dont like the exa weight of the aluminum riser much. now ive shot the hoyt buffalo and i must say if i had the money and chance to buy one id do it in a heartbeat. that bow is quiet shoots like a dream and the avalability of limbs is great. if your intrested in wood id sugest the samic sage. its 189 bucks and worth every penny and much more. i hunt with it and overalll is definatly my favorite bow to shoot. just my .02
