Took this old doe this evening with a longbow that my good friend Neal Brown in MS made for me back in 02.I used a beman carbon shaft and a Woodsman broadhead. Shooting straight down at 4 yards dropped her in her tracks. I decided yesterday that I was going to carry that bow until I took something with it. I have made several bows for Neal and he has taken deer with them all so it was my turn to do the same.
I took this doe here in Arkansas hunting on my parents place in a stand under a persimmon tree that was dropping persimmons like crazy. There is no telling the fur that I have caught at this tree but its the first deer I have taken there.
I had deer around me from the time I got there until I took this doe about a half hour before dark.
Neat deal taking game with bows made by friends on places you were raised up hunting.
