Found a nice little trail to hunt.  Backed off the trail about 15 yards and kicked-away the leaves from in front of the tree I was going to stand by.

After standing for a few moments I got a odd feeling and looked down.

My shoes had turned an odd red color and were moving around in a strange way.

Then I realized my boots were covered with fire ants.

I did a nice Olympic standing long jump and was very happy I'd sprayed extra deet on my pants and socks.

Seems I'm seeing everything but deer this year.

I grew up in the deep South where Brazilian fire ants established themselves years ago.   Those babies will break you from sucking eggs but one of the "nice" things about them is when you have them the ticks aren't quite so bad.

Where I am from in TX they were really horrible. I am with ya on the deer, what little I have gotten out has not shown me a deer yet, not even a tail wag! LOL -- Funny -

Captain hindsight to the rescue!

That is zero good times.  Glad you (apparantly) got them off you.  Those are some unpleasant critters.
