What happened to the old Fletch Tite glue?

I don't think they make it any more. They replaced it with the platinum which I don't like at all. Doesn't hold as well and too expensive. I have now switched to Duco and having good luck with it.

I shoot aluminum arrows and I fletch my feathers with the new Platinum and I've never had a problem with feathers coming unglued from aluminum.

Before I fletch, I rub down the area to be fletched with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Ditto for the base of the arrow quill too.

Replaced with Platinum.

Try Duco, I've been using it for a long time with no problems.

I've tried, but I haven't been able to find regular fletch tite for years. Platinum seems to be hit and miss for me - sometimes it works wonders, sometimes it doesnt (and that's with all the treatments people recommend). I've switched to fletch tape now. So far no feather losses. Hopefully this will continue into the cold weather.

I haven't had a single problem with Platinum fletch tite on aluminums or carbons with wraps.I clean my aluminums real well and always use a arrow wraps on my carbons,makes them so much easier to redo later.

Ive had problems with the platinum it seems to be more like a gel than a liquid sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. I've switched to the gorilla glue super glue, it has a light blue cap. Havent had any problems since switching, and it dries alot faster.

I've used fletch tite for a long time.  I haven't noticed a big difference with platinum.  When I think the glue is too thick for my applicator, I thin it with the Bohning thinner that I use with my dip tubes.  Works fine.

I agree with dnovo. It definately is not like it used to be. I'll never buy another tube of it, turns to gel and won't flow. Over priced crap in my book. I'll stick to my fletch tape.

I have since tried it on my aluminums and had zero problems.  Scrub the shafts with steel wool, wipe with alcohol, and fletch.

I've built dozens of arrows also,using Platinum with no problems.Most were carbon but some aluminum.

Duco works.

Platinum for me for three tubes now.  No issues at all on carbon.  No gel issues unless you let it get real old or don't keep it sealed up well. I had the last little bit if a tube that sat a while get a little gel to it, but still worked fine. I think the tube got a little hole in it.  Wold be a good idea to store it a zip lock when not usning it just for extra air seal.

jim b...where do you get your fletch tape???? i can fletch 3 doz arrows "3 fletch" at 19 cents an arrow??  7.00 a roll..

I use platinum on everything. No matter what you use you will get the best results if you take the time to prep the shaft. I lightly sand then clean with alcohol. No problems. Also I find platinum works very well with crest wraps.
