I have a Lone Wolf hand climber, but the tree(s)I want to use are rather bare at my selected 12' height.

To keep from sticking out like a sore thumb, I'd like ideas on camo skirting for the stand and not painting the stand.  Specific plans and pics are always welcome.

(...and yes, I remain still and quiet and wear appropriate colors.)

Nope not needed, deer pick up movement way more than color espc. the grey of a LW. Where I hunt 12 ft. on a bare tree would never work, you would be picked everytime. Here a minimum of 18ft. but 20-25 is better. Try and pick trees that have a lot of back cover and that will help. Shawn

Deer around here don't walk around looking up in trees, BUT they are good at detecting movement.  I thought some camo netting might allow a little foot shuffle without spooking the critter.

BTW Shawn, it's tough for me to tolerate 12-15', so 25-30' is a   :nono:

My climber is factory camo but it only blends in when I have good cover around it. I love to set up in a tree with a small beech next to it or big tri-butted trees.

This stuff ain't no rocket surgery science!

I carry a couple bungee cords and pull branches/small tree's over to my stand for cover. And I normally climb until I have cover

I paint ALL my treestands and climbing sticks olive green and I have a hard time finding them and I'm the one who hung it! But I agree movement and having good cover around you really helps the most.

i paint em, the color they come in is just the primer for my spray bomb jobs. but do it ahead of the season cause it smells pretty strong

Not necessary.  Get up 15-18 feet and be still.

I camoed mine dark blue. If not in the woods already, I'd take a pic. No kidding.

I use the die cut camo cloth you get at wally worl and just zip tie it to my stands More to break up the outline than anything. But like said earlier pick trees with alot of back cover close in.

I cammo....everything.  So yes.   It has nothing to do with animals either.....but other hunters.   Depending on the situation,  I have ditched stands for short periods of time in hiding spots.   When they are cammo,  it helps me out.   I cammo stick ladders, straps,  the whole deal.

i camo everything!  it sure dosent hurt nothing.

Go to your local craft store and get some strands of artificial greenery.  They've got everything from green ivy looking stuff to leafy fall foliage.  Tie wrap to your stand. I do this and place in surrounding mountain laurel where I can't even shoot out of it without standing up and still frequently get my stands busted before I ever hunt them.  Deer are just flat out getting wiser and walk around looking up! Put up a second temporary stand (take down when not in it) and leave the busted stand up as a decoy.  When that smart**s doe is fixated on the empty one, she's mine.  I just can't tolerate females of any species smarter than I am! Maybe because they're so many of them... LOL
