Archery isn't something I do, it's who I am!
The road to "Sherwood" makes for an awesome journey.

Good luck too all of you Illinois hunters. I was born in Danville, When I was a kid there wasn't a Whitetail to be seen. Now look at the monsters coming out of Southern Illinois. Shoot straight and connect on one of those monsters.

wax your string, edge your broadheads and enjoy.  I will limp out there tomorrow to spend time with nephew and brother.  May the spirit of past hunters shine on you

Like a kid at Christmas I tell you...got a couple of big uns' living in places I cant hunt, one of which just looks photoshopped. He's 6 1/2 years old, and I have pics of him for 3 years now. I "almost" closed the deal last year but a smart old doe ruined me.

The other is a "house" buck that is 4 1/2 years old. He's the opposite of the above buck. Narrow and gnarly...I love him and will gladly kill him as I don't have the luxury of many acres to manage. A hundred acre buck as I call him.

Post some pics or stories of the bucks you are hunting. Would love to hear about them!

Good luck to all in the Land of Lincoln !!! had the privledge of getting to hunt there a few years and I tell you, compared to what we have in TN I think ILL is the " Holy Land " !!! We might get a chance to come up late season and hunt some does ? Saving $$$ for future buck tags now. It is not only quality but quantity in ILL too.

Bruce, when you find this thread good luck to you and Marilyn bud ! If we do make it up we gotta share a cobbler and ice cream at Dolly's !   :coffee:

Heading up today and will be in the woods in the morning.  Got 4 stands and 2 trail cams to setup and get ready for the return trip in Nov, but plan on shooting a couple of does and hopefully seeing some good bucks.  Crops are still in but should be out sometime this month, may make another trip up after they cut if possible.
Looks like absolutely some great weather and can't wait to get back up there, see my good friends and enjoy some quality time!
They'll be no quitters till we bag us some critters!

Good luck and safe hunting to everybody. Corn is still up behind my place and don't have anything but small bucks, does, fawns and yrlings on my trail cam. However, did see a real good buck walk across the road and jump fence the other day while I was shooting in the yd.

Going to hunt over some feeding sign, red oak acorns and fresh rubs in the morning.

mark land

Yep red oak acorns are my early season source and usually do very well around them.  Good luck
