Good day, I was wondering who might make the best wooden arrows. I'm looking for heavy arrows to shoot out of my 70lbs longbow. I was thinking DF, any suggestion on wood choices and on somebody who is reliable, that make great arrows?
Thank you.

Douglas fir is good and ash is too.

There are a ton of excellent wood arrow crafters out there.  I have switched over to all douglas fir shafts myself.

Elite Arrows makes the best wood arrows I know of , I like good old cedar for wood choice. All around cedar is hard to beat .

I buy Surewood shafts 10 dozen at a time.  They have all been carbon straight right out of the pile.

Another shameless plug for both Surewood's Douglas Fir and Magnus' arrows.  Hard to go wrong supporting TG sponsors.

I love douglas fir and I get mine from Tim @ Braveheart ... great fella to do business with .

But my arrowmaker of choice ifI am not making them myself is Ted Fry at Raptor . Always well made and staight... again a great fella to do business with and good guy to boot

I really like the Douglas Fir shafts from Surewood. They are great guys to deal with and I have not had a bad shaft ever.

Check out David Lawson, Snag, to us here. He's in Oregon and makes an incredibly beautiful arrow from Surewoods.
