For a hanging style tree stand which brand do you guys like the most? Weight capacity is 300lbs.

I use an API, I'm sure there is better out there, but i really like mine. I pretty sure its rated for 300 lbs.

Depends on how much you want to spend..I like my Lone Wolf hang-on and a Summit a buddy of mine has. I know Lone Wolf is made in America now..

I don't mind spending the money. I just want a strong lightweight quiet stand that can hold 300lbs. I never own a tree stand so I don't know which brand is good quality. I just don't want it to be flimsy and fall off it. Yes, I will have a harness.

I'm partial to Gorilla Kong stands.  I've used them for years, and have never had an issue with them.  They're nice and roomy, quiet, and have a comfortable seat pad.

Screaming Eagle, hands down for me!

All steel (except seat which is padded wood), chain instead of nylon strap (won't deteriorate or be chewed by squirrels or porcupines), bites into tree to give a very stable stand – no wobble, seat height is perfect (on most commercial stands the seat is too low), both platform and seat fold up to prevent accumulation of snow/ice and to keep seat dry and make it less visible when not in use, virtually indestructible and theft-proof with good padlock, choice of large and small platforms and seats, and can hang a VW Bug from it.

One, and only one drawback is that they are a little on the heavy side (I think the large one is about 18#). However, this adds to stability, and is not a problem if you carry it on your back with a couple removable shoulder straps.

Gorilla stands are very nice for the money, i have a couple of them. Lonewolf stands would be lighter and easier to handle but a lot more $$

I'm with Jeff , Screaming Eagles are by far the best I've used . I've had aluminum stands creak in cold weather . I do own a tree sling and have taken a couple deer with it but not as comfortable as the Eagles .

I have a Lone Wolf Alpha and a Summit Falcon. Both are aluminum, very light, and neither has ever squeaked for me. I'd buy either one again.

I just got a Chippewa Wedge-lock and am very impressed. Very well built, easy to hang and feels very safe and comfortable. And "made in USA"

Chippewa Wedge Loc best bar none. Quiet and very lightweight You can use a chain or heavy rachet strap, funny I have over 30 home made brackets made out of nylon rachet straps and have never had one chewed and some have been out there 4 years.Screamin Eagle are nice, but they are heavy as hell, I mean over 20#s heavy. Screaming Eagle- No human weight limit and once seated into the tree they don't move.

Love my Screaming Eagle.  Once it's in-place it's quiet and staying put.

Screaming eagle! I own 6 with the special bracket, weight not a factor.

Lone wolf alpha is a good one.

I don't like Lone wolf stands or any stand utilizeing a single verticle post to anchor the platform cables. I mostly stand (smaller profile) and the cables dig into my legs. I prefer a Gorilla Or Summit stand that has twin verticle posts to support the platform cables. (more room)
