I shoot woodies about 100% of the time. In the last week and a half I've broke two flemish strings in the same spot, just below the string nock.  I have been experimenting with carbons and in both instances with arrows nocked and shot the strings broke.  Has anyone experienced this themselves?

The only time I've had one break there was with a metal nock point. I don't use them anymore.

Where did the string break, below the nock on your string where you nock your arrows? Or below the nock on the bow where the string grooves are cut? Arrow material shouldn't have anything to do with the string breaking, unles maybe the carbon arrows nocks are snapping on really tight?

Good reason to keep shooting wood..

How many strands in the strings? Snap on nocks on the carbons vs speed nocks on the woods? How old were the strings?

Couple of good responses, thanks.  I like m midds response the best.

I think the arrow nocks were just pinching too tight.

How could a carbon arrow cause a string to break?

Wood or carbon could be the nocks themselves have a sharp edge. I file all my nocks and make sure they are smooth. I love woodies, but it is getting hard to find real consistent spines. I agree it was not the arrow itself. Shawn
