I recently purchased the 8000rpm Weston Arrow Saw and was wondering how many of you have one.  Seems the motor on mine is not very powerful at all.  I tried to cut some 2018s last night and they really bogged the motor down.  I'm thinking I might have gotten a bad motor but I am having a terrible time getting a human to answer the phone # that they give in the owners manual.  Just curious, has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks
Toby

How deep do you have the blade set.. ?? It should only be cutting a 1/16" to an 1/8" deep and you rotate the shaft to cut it..

I've only got about 1/8 of the blade sticking out past the guard.  It seems like the motor is stalling out as soon as I start to rotate the shaft.  I've even tried rotating the shaft in the opposite direction.  I've used Apple & Easton saws in the past and they sipped right through.

I think you have a bad one, I have there smaller one, I think it's around 4000 rpm & it cuts good. I've even cut wood with it, that bogs it down some, but not bad.

Mine is a 4000 rpm and it'll bog down some. Serif u can pull out the brushes

I really like the looks of this saw, looks to be pretty well built.  I know there is the occasional problem in everything that is manufactured.  I just wish I could get a person on the phone to speak to.

I have an 8000 RPM Weston and have used it a lot. I have never cut any aluminum arrows, but it seems to have plenty of power on carbon arrows. I would say you have a bad motor.

I've got the 8000 and have cut several dozen alums without it bogging much.  Sounds like you got a bum motor...
I'm getting more dangerous all the time...

I got one with a bad motor, crapped out after about 3 dozen AL shafts. Called them up, faxed my owner card and had a new motor in a couple days.
