A few days ago on craig's list I picked up 3 kids longbows and about 15 arrows, 9 of which are Colt brand kids arrows in perfect shape. After a while on google I discovered Colt (the firearm company)was involved in archery from about 1961-1967 and sold such bows as the "Plainsman" and it looked like the bows were manufactured by wing. Does anyone have any other information on the history Colt has on archery?
Here is also some pictures of the arrows.

My grandfather gave me a recurve when I first became interested in traditional archery and it was a Colt.  Very nice bow that drew about 50 lbs. as I remember.  One end came unlaminated and I threw the bow away.  I have since found out that the bow could have been repaired and I have been kicking myself since.  Even with the end unlaminated it was a piece of archery history that I really wish I still had.  I later found out that they were produced by Wing (Bob Lee) and bought myself a new Bob Lee bow but really wish I still had that old Colt bow.

My first factory bow was a Colt.  What I remember most was that I had to change my shot selection.  It would shoot clear thru the frogs and I would loose the arrow if the water was deep enough and the frog would sometimes get away.

I dont know much of the history, but I've owned and refinished several. They actually shoot pretty darn good.

You might want to mention that on the Colt forum. There are some pretty knowledgeable guys there.
