I now use it exclusively. It is very handy to use and works very well. I can't ever see going back to glue. Plus, you can have an arrow ready to shoot in a few minutes. The only thing that slows you down is you need to dab a little glue on the ends of the feather.

lonnie i just got a roll about a month agao and believe me it's the cats meow becouse you can fletch an arrow as fast as you can apply the tape and put in in the fletcher . like jdunlap said just the dab of glue on the ends to hold them down for sure and you are set to go .don't think i will go back to glue thats for sure lol.

I really like it to. It took a little time for me to get used to it but I now like it better than glue. It hold up well too.

Lonnie-I use fletch tape and think it works great! Do a search here at 'TG' and you will find a video made by Mr. DeStefano. It really made a difference for me! Thanks.

I use it. I highly recommend it.
I extend the tape about 1/8" past the end of each feather and place a drop of super glue on both ends of the feather.

90% of my practice is shooting at leaves, sticks, weeds in the yard and I have only lost two feathers in 2 years since using tape.

reddogge

Since I started I stopped glueing except for the drop at the ends of the feathers.

I've used the Bohning fletching tape and have had great success.  I've done stump shooting with arrows fletched with tape during the winter (snow covered ground), during the Spring with plenty of mud and the feathers have stayed on very good.
The work praises the man.

I been using tape for 6 years when I was using glue my glue lines weren't that neat the tape gives me a cleaner look

snakebit40

Just did up three arrows for the first time tonight with tape. I hope I like it, I did the dab of glue on both ends of the feather and cleaned the shafts and feathers before I applied. I'll let you know how I like it.

In the bow shop we went to the tape 100% several years ago, works very well once you get over you think you need one more arm to get the bootom cover off the tape. You can do a full doz shaft in about a 1/2 hour as you watch TV....
you should see how I use to shoot

Iv'e said it before but if you use it and hunt in cold wheather your feathers will fall off. It looses its adhesiveness when cold. I thought it was great till I hunted in the late season and took my first shot, it looked like you kicked a turkey in the butt.

Davesea

I have gone away from glue and tape entirely and wrap  my feathers on the shaft with string.  wrapping has lots of advantages.
non toxic
fast
no wait time
feathers are more secure
won't rip  off with a pass through
field serviceable even in wet conditions
feathers can be recovered and reused easily from a broken arrow
Fletching jig is only needed initially to mark the shaft

wrapping feathers is not primitive... it is smart.

Ya gottqa point there.
Archery is a family sport, enjoy it with your family.

I use tape and add a drop of glue fore and aft.  I am clumsy, so if I can fetch an arrow with tape, anyone can.

Tim...do single digit New England winters count as cold in your book?    :)    I've hunted down to 6 degrees here and never had a fletch fall off  (below that and its more than feathers that I'd be worried about falling off...he he he).  granted I don't know your setup...I personally have encountered a few brands of cap wraps that don't like it, but once it sticks it sticks. (I do dab a bit of duco on the lead and trailing edge)
