Charlie - It is a type mushroom. It's called a giant western puffball. They are actually edible, but this time of year they are past being "ripe" and are full of seed spores. There were 8-10 in the spot I took the photo. Looked like someone dropped a bag of volleyballs in the woods!LOL!

Thanks. I wanted to try and show what I truely feel when I take an animals life.
