Hey Gang,
As some of you know, I've been sharing some of my "how to's".  It's just one way of giving back to the traditional community as so many have given to me, and although many have helped, one name really "sticks out" and that name is Rod Jenkins.
A few years back, I was really lost in the world of traditional archery.  Rod unselfishly gave up his time to talk and write to me about tuning, strings and shooting. I was a "nobody" to him but he always took the time to share his knowledge.  I grew over the years thanks to his help.  He provided guidance and insurance that I was on the right track.  He has greatly impacted my positive experience of traditional bowhunting over the years.
The best part to all of this was that I was able to meet him face to face at Comptons! After chatting for awhile, he even took me out to the shooting range  to provide me with additional shooting strategies!
Thanks to guys like Rod Jenkins, I am now able to "pay it forward".

Has someone "payed it forward" to you?

Aloha Gang!

Rod is a good bloke all round , a pleasure to spend time with and as about a generous fella as you could hope to meet.
His coaching ain't that bad either !
He took from a target panic riddled, inaccurate basket case - to just a basket case   :goldtooth:

Rod is a wonderful person who also happens to be very talented in various aspects of the archery world.

Had the fortune to meet Rod at the IBO Trad Worlds. What a pleasure to speak with and he gave you his quite patient undivided attention.
I felt quite special after our conversation. That 1st impression will stick!

Now watching him shoot was another story.

Ryan, someone paid it forward to me.

Shooting a compound at our club one day my sight pin kept slipping down causing the arrows to go high missing the target.

The guy next to me was shooting a longbow and hitting the target every time.

In time, Mark taught he how to shoot a traditional bow. He took me hunting on a number of occasions  and taught me "wood lore."

He is the reason I shoot trad and hunt today!

And I took the opportunity to pay it forward teaching my younger neighbor to shoot. He shot a nice buck his first year. Bob

I to just recently called Rod. He spent all the time I needed on the phone. He was a great help!

An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.

Ryan, I went to one of Rod's clinics a couple of years ago and had an amazing time. Rod was such a great teacher and a really good person to be around. Of course, I had to go buy new arrows after that clinic because he took my 28" draw and showed me that I should be shooting longer. I now draw 30 1/2" with lots of back tension, thanks to Rod. You asked us who we think is paying it forward. I'd have to say that you are doing a pretty good job of it. I just finished tying a couple of your adjustable nocks, you definitely have a gift when it comes to teaching. Thank you so much, I plan on checking out all of your videos when I have time. I'll also be adding your Instinct video to my list I keep near the computer. I keep one there in case my wife's feeling like surprising me or a holiday's coming up. Don't want her wasting her money! Thanks for all you do. Joshua

The bowyers I trust and have bought multiple bows from over the years: Tom Cable, Bill Dunn, Chuck Deshler, and South Cox. My buddy KHALVERSON who is always willing to help me tune, fix, change my equipment and push my shooting, AND Rod Jenkins who had the single largest impact on my shooting. He didn't just take my money at the clinic I attended, but has taken the time to answer questions afterwards also. Thanks to them all!
