Check Ron La clair's longhunter wool. The best wool garment I ever had.

THE BEST wool-TwoTracks. Also a sponsor, if your serious about stopping the wind and staying warm.

Give the Asbell pullovers a look as well.

I have had or have all three brands you mentioned, but my vote goes to hidden wolf.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Asbell wool is the best value in hunting garments.

I am fond of Swanndri. Thinking of getting me a nice Two Tracks vest, though.

You must have the old stuff Walt  :p    Hidden Wolf is now Grey Wolf Woolens.  And I agree, it is great stuff!
Two Tracks wool vests are some of the thickest wool I have seen, and great hand made patterns

From the above and my exact same deliberations, there's no way to know!
All above names are quality products (as near as I can tell) and will no doubt serve you well. I'm going with the one that LOOKS the best to me. Price secondary, as any well made product will last and the price gets divided by about 10 years, at least.

I've got Gray Wolf, Filson, Woolrich and an Asbell pullover.  All are nice for their intended uses.  But for good, long lasting wool you can't beat Filson.  It costs more, but worth it in my opinion.  That being said, my Gray Wolf is great stuff too and Jeff is a super guy to deal with.

What are you looking to buy (shirt, jacket, vest, pants, etc)?  My most versatile and favorite piece of hunting clothing is my Filson wool vest.  Most likely I'll be buried with it on, unless a future grandson takes a shine to it. Lol!

Two Tracks wool is, by far, the best wool garment I've ever seen.  Extremely well made, cool camo pattern, and talk about warm.  Check out the Two Tracks website you'll be glad you did, TRW.

i have day one in asat and it is good stuff  I also have Ron's longhunter shirt good too. I bought the day one before the prices went up.  from what i see and can tell hidden wolf is best deal

X2 on Filson. Along with bowhunting, I have been a waterfowler all my life. Unlike a walk in the woods or sitting in a blind or treestand, duck hunting can trash your eguipment in a few seasons. The filson vest and the heavy sweater with shelter cloth on the shoulders last forever. I have 10+ seasons on my stuff and its still going strong.

NoCams

Bought the 28oz heavy wool from Theresa at Compton this year and cannot wait to give it a try. It should be a little more wind resistant than the other lighter weights of Asbell wool.

Mason loves his Ron LaClair longhunter he bought last year. Wore it late season and was toasty with some Ullfrotte long johns and Goodwill sweater for a mid-layer.

You can have my Gray Wolf Woolens vest when you pry it from my cold dead fingers !!!! It is wind lined, long tailed in the back, collar that is taller in the back than the front, and did I mention the half forearm deep pockets..... ? I am saving for a set of bibs now. Simply the best garment I own in addition to my Ullfrotte long johns.

NoCams,  Do you know what patterns the 28 oz wool comes in?  What pattern did you get?  Thanks!
