Lot's of NICE take down recurves out there - i've been contimplating a new custom. i recently shot one that was really sweet - BUT, i noticed my eyes being drawn toward the brass on the belly where the limb bolts anchored - a potentail huge issue with concentrating during shooting
1. Does this bother anyone else?
2. Will these bowyers offer to anchor w/o the brass? Anyone made this request?
3. Any 'fixes' anyone can think of other than a differnt system? - i thought of having the bowyer 'color' the buttons to match the wood.

I have had several with the brass anchor holes and they were a non-issue when shooting. Concentration was on the target and you won't even "see" them at all. Seems like the northwest bowyers use that system and their bows are super fne. You can always ask about a different bolt system but don't see any reason to change it up.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Many bowyers use that system but overlay the "buttons".

I have the brass and don't find it distracting. I'll bet you could ask the bowyer if they have an alternative or punch out contac type cover up to put over it.

If you are looking at your bow that much and/or are that easily distracted when shooting, you have bigger worries than the brass buttons.

Unless the sun was giving a glare I dont notice them. There are many fixes though. Most bowyers will cover them with an overlay if asked or something as simple as some leather or felt and they are gone.

Am a little confuse with brass on the belly unles youenz are talking about widow type mounted recurve limbs???

Outwest

Those brass buttons on the belly are threaded and that is where my Delta quiver attaches.

Zbone - i don't have pics but you can see them easily on Fox bows, wes wallace and stalker to name a few. These are very nice bows - you can see pics on any of their websites. i like several of them and was wondering if there's an option other than having this on the part of the riser i'm lookin at

Those guys surely can have the t head of that nut where it can't be seen.  It is the "nail head" of the nut and is easily inlayed in the riser and accents added over.

Those guys you mention are solid bowyers that can all but do the impossible with a bow, this is easy...
