I put Monkey tail silencers, which is a single curled rubber tail, on my recurve.

When I installed these is caused my arrow spine to be too stiff and I had to go to a heavier point than I intended.  My arrows are still about two inches longer than needed.

Would the beaver hair or whisker silencers have this much of an affect on my bow setup.

Do I leave my arrow length alone or do I cut off and inch and go to a 150+ gr. tip.

Derek, I would install the silencers you want to use, then tune your arrows.

Anything you add/remove from your string will effect the tune of your arrows. I also would suggest choosing a string/silencer combination that you are happy with, then tune your arrows.

Not sure what arrows you are shooting but if you are happy with the silencers than add point weight. Lots of folks shooting 175-325 grains of point weight. Tune the arrow to the bow! Shawn
