i have recently been struggling with shooting form and with 2 small corrections i am very comfortable and confident now in a hunting situation under 20 yards. i will have a dozen stands and ground blinds out on my favorite mountain with a HUGE mast crop of beech. things are looking GREAT!!! heart is starting to beat a little faster just thinking about being up there on opening day. picture it if you will. a few song dogs sing to you in the dark, your hair rise's on your neck untill all is quiet. braking light all is still. birds start to sind and you hear the patter of little feet in the leaves as the squrriells start to forage. a twig brakes, then again. now the unmistakeable sound of a animal slowly making its way to your stand. light glints off antler, a big body to follow. before you know it a 10 point has closed to 15 yeards and is broad side eating beech nuts in front of you!!! can ya feel it??????? its allmost time!!!!!

Good to hear! Nothing feels better than going into the hunting woods FEELING deadly! Good luck!
What is man without the beasts? If all the beasts were gone, men would die from great loneliness of spirit, for whatever happens to the beasts also happens to man. All things are connected. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the children of the earth

I have little over a month, then I have to hang a stand but I know where it is going as long as no one bet me to it yet

Fourteen stands are ready and I finished cleaning up the trails to them yesterday.  Quiet entrances in the dark.  Now, to let the area rest for a month before I can hunt them.  Elk season comes first.  I can feel your excitement!

Now then, take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me, Gen 27:3

I can feel it too Ken!!!

Me and my boys shot our bows until all the light was gone this evening, and then we just kind of got into a kneeling position and began to bring back memories of seasons past. At 16 and 13, they are both seasoned and successful archers.

I am certain that the "feeling" we get makes god smile.

Thinking more about the rain than anything else right now.   :readit:   Put on the news Ken and check out New Jersey!! LOL! Houses 2 blocks from the beach are now Ocean Front! Still raining in Pequannock.   :knothead:   Tomorrow will be a good day to scout. Plenty of tracks in the wet earth. I'm glad to hear you have confidence in your new shooting style. One has to enter the deer woods full of positivity.   :archer:   Good Luck and good hunting. Remember do everything right and you will score!   :archer2:
