Many thanks to South Cox for offering these bows up for this season and the 2012 St Jude auction.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, ALL the bowyers that have done this prior have all put there best foot forward.  South is no different....once again we have some stunning 'Gals' to take hunting with up.

I would like for South to tell us what all the woods are as I know I wont get it right.

Both Bows are 60 inch 50#@28...and will be leaving out this week.....

There will be a thread stickied to the top of the PowWow for those lucky enough to get a date to share in their adventures.

Hang on...there's a lot of pics...and they are long pics.  I also go 'all out' on these bows during introduction.....

The road to "Sherwood" makes for an awesome journey.

Those are awesome ! South is a excellent bowyer that doesnt get enough press, maybe this will help get his bows in others hands and get the word out just how beautiful and shootable his bows are !

Nice bows and photos to do them justice.
What is that wood on the fadeouts and back of the shelf?

Gorgeous work there.  Looks like leopardwood on the limb overlays.  Awesome.

Here's the one that I won from South last Spring. I'm a recurve guy but this bow shoots as well as the best of them. I'll be hunting bear with it next week (in the rain, it looks like) so I hope I will be able to post a hero pic. So, those of you who would like to try one of these bows....you will not be disappointed in their performance. Sign up and take one hunting. You will probably wind up ordering one for yourself...they are that good.

Man, those are beautiful bows.  I'm excited to be the first one to take Faith out!  I've heard good things about South's bows and now I get to be the first one to hunt with this little beauty!

With RC hunting with her, Hope will probably have 2 or 3 hogs down by the end of Sept.  They are already dead, but just don't know it yet!

"Hopefully" I can get a litle blood on Faith as well.

WOW!!!! - gorgeous bows!!!!!!!!!!            :campfire:

Terry got in touch with me and asked me to post the woods for the two bows.  Starting from the tips, Aussie Shane (he just came out to make a hunt with Steve Tadin, my camera man and assistant bowyer up in the Marble Mountains. He is still up there bear hunting as I write) supplied me with some Asiatic buffalo horn that I made the tips with.  Under the tips is yellowheart and red fiberglass.  Limb veneers are curly etimoe and mexican kingwood.  The handles are macassar ebony and pau rosa.  Fadeouts are of the same species as the handle material.  Hope you guys enjoy shooting them!  I am headed out tomorrow morning early for Colorado for mule deer and elk, but will get the build along pics I took up when I roll back into town and the dust settles.

Friend

To me, they look just like ordinary masterpieces.

Bravo!!!!

South... wish more of your bows find their way into the hands of the TG family. Much is lost when a true artisan seems obscure and not recognized for his rare gift until many years down down the road.

Again, two absolutley beautiful trad creations!

Guys, sign up for those bows. I have one of South's recurves and one of his longbows and they are great shooters and lookers. I believe you will be very impressed with his workmanship and bow design. One of the best grips out there.

How do you do this? I put a post just under Terry's expressing interest but do not know exactly how it works.
