I just bought my first 3 piece t/d longbow from the classifieds. It's an RER LX. I'm trying to decide on a quiver for it. I think I've decided on a Kanati Pro but can't decide between the strap on or limb bolt models. What are you guys opinions on the two? Does one have more advantages over the other?

I have a limb bolt that I just love on my Blacktail recurve... I am partial to the bolt on quivers. Just seem more stable but not "better" If you like to take your quiver off and on a lot a strap on is much better...

I just bought the limb bolt Slim Jim Angle Pro. Very solid. I like how I can take the quiver off without taking the bow apart too. Bow is absolutely silent with the quiver on too. The limb bolt just seems more solid than the strap on quivers I've used in the past. Good luck.

I much prefer the strap on model.John's strap on system will not move.Maybe I should say that again.John's strap on system WILL NOT MOVE!You can take it off without taking apart your bow.The strap on also gets the contact points of the quiver and arrow farther apart than a bolt on.This means less vibration of the arrows in the quiver.Not to mention you can use the strap on on any bow you own.In the end you have to use what you think will work best for you.

You really can't get a more solid connection than the limb bolt quiver. It is a tight and right connection. Strap-ons are fine for one piece bows.

I've been using a strap on Thunderhoen mini-boa on my Morrisons and have been very happy with it.
My bows are still very quiet and the quiver can be easily removed.

Get the Kanati angle pro limb bolt. It has quick detach finger bolts. If you don't want it on your bow while hunting, just loosen the bolts and hang it on a hook. Works great! I have only taken my quiver off for travel purposes though. I really like it.

Mark, I own 2 t/d longbows. One has the kanati limb bolt & one the Kanati strap on. It's a matter of personal preference. Both hold the arrows securely and are dead quiet on the bow. If anything I lean towards the strap on more cause there's a bit more distance between the hood and the arrow grippers.

Man, that is one of the nicest Thunderhorns I've seen 1/4 Away.  You got a real looker there.

I agree with 1/4 Away completely.  If your riser is realtively short like the Thunderhorn Heartstoppers the hood and grippers are to close leaving greater than half the arrow length hanging below the grippers.  I didn't like it at all and set mine up just as pictured above.

Thanks Keith, I've only had it about a month but its a super sweet shooting bow.

My bow has a 15" riser so I'm kinda leaning towards the strap on to give me a little more distance between the hood and gripper. Thanks for all the help guys.
