I love snakes. Always have. That being said, I find little else compares to dressing up a bow.
While watching a show last night, I saw some impressive snakes. And although I love em, I saw a lot of bow backings crawling around.
What is the most exotic skin you have seen? Please post pics if you can. One snake in particular that caught my eye was the fer de lance from South America....

A bow I made for my wife:

Saharan Rock Viper-----I think it would have looked better ifthe skin would have been split along the belly instead of the back, but ...my wife liked it and picked it out.

Ben, I like the belly skin on that one, you dont see many.
I've done bows with jungle carpet python, asian mangrove, several species of sea snake, palm viper was incredible(bright yellow green with black markings, all kinds of rat snakes which are really cool, all kinds of boa and python, but my favorite is the okeetee corn snake from Florida. I'm putting these on my soon to be born Silvertip!

Here are some more common ones

the copperhead and bullsnake are easy...but what are the first 2 in the 6 limb pic?  Also...where in the world do you find skins?  I have e-mailed breeders and pet suppliers about those that die...I'm now on their hate mail list for asking...  :(

I have a red-dyed python skin that I bought from a friend who was going to use it on a motorcycle seat.  He bought it from an outfit that does exotics:   www.implora.com

Caution, they are pricey!

Snakewood, Mike Yancy, Alphamale, etc....lots of places to get snakes.  Not hard to find them.

Bob,I've been fur buying a long time, so I have aquired a good list of snake hunters and am on lists of breeders, taxidermists, fur dealers and pet dealers from all over. I have a class 6 license to buy and sell. Its a trust thing that has built over time, yes many will spit on you for asking for dead snakes till a 350.00 pet snake dies before they can sell it. Then its a whole different ballgame and they want to be your best friend.

As Keith said, plenty of guys here have some great quality skins besides me. I'm more of a "rare specimen" type guy. I can get "almost" anything but the other guys will usually have the basic skins onhand more than me. I don't stockpile them, except for prairie rattler which I can probably beat anybodys price on! I often have to flesh and dry them myself but it sure beats paying for frozen whole shipping!

The skins you refer to are normal wild caught corn snakes in the photo above.

I'm getting there Ed. No surgery, I seem to have beat it with physical therapy. Pain and numbness is mosttly gone. Now I have to regain strength in my right arm, as I lost about 2" circumfrance when it atrophied.
I will be BOWhunting this fall....
Awesome snakeskins. Giving me great ideas for my Treadway...
