My wife has given me the go ahead to order a new black widow, problem is I cant decide between a PL or PCH. How does the pch shoot compared to the PSA? I have heard it is a little harder to shoot than the PSA. AS far as the PL goes I love them, I have one currently but its low weight.

Whats your opinions?

Nathan Killen

Ive had one SA and two PSA's and loved them. I think its the best bow BW has made (all of them are great) Its shorter than the PMA but longer than a PCH. Perfectly in the middle !

I believe they let you test drive if I am not mistaken than you can choose oh oh you might like them both.

Yes, by all means use their "Test Drive" Program!   :readit:   You can decide for yourself.   :archer:    :archer2:

I have a PCH and PSA. Hunted with the PCH last year, 56". Love it but it is, in my opinion, a little harder to stay as consistent from an accuracy standpoint as my PSA. If length/size is not an issue, stick with what you "love". If you need a shorter more compact bow for blind or treestand, cant go wrong with a PCH. Good luck and remember that this decision is a good problem to have!

I have the PSA and love mine and the way it shoots. My buddy has a PMA which also shoots fantastic, the riser is a little longer. If I had to choose I would choose thw PSA.

Bowwild

I have PSAIII, PCHX and PAX. All shoot the same for me. None are easier or more difficult. All of mine are 58" and 46-47# at my 26" draw.

My favorite of the bunch is the PAX. I think the one-piece is more graceful looking than the takedowns. The mass weight of widows is great enough that I don't gain that much more with the TD hardware.

Thanks fellas for the advice. I use to own a psax, but sold it to a friend, wish I still had it. Thinkin about getting another PL longbow. now to decide on greybark or bacote, i love greybark.

Flying Dutchman

I would buy both, to end all hesitation!
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that string! [/i]

I probably would have the fever for a Widow. I have shot several and love their grips.

However, their web site does a poor job of displaying what they have for sale. It's hard to figure out what the real difference in the various models are. I don't much care about the cosmetics - but want to know what the real working differences are.

smilinicon

Hard to beat the Greybark and Autumn Oak for looks. It is the classic Widow look.

I am longbow only now, with a 64" PL. Light and simple.

Yes, the Widow website is cheesy.

I suggest going to the Photo page at the BW site, then imagine which bow you would like to be holding yourself. Best of luck with whatever you decide to get!

bfrbmj

Also give them a call.  Great service and might help you decide what model fits you better.  Definitely test drive them to see the differences for yourself- then get both.
To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target

Thanks guys, talked to them today, thinkin about getting the a greybark longbow.

They are now offering a "Toby Grip" on the longbows, they say its slightly fuller and more rounded, has any of yall tried that grip?

JamesKerr

I have only shot a few of their bows but I know for about 75 dollars they will cut a custom grip onto any bow as long as it has enough wood to withstand the stress of the bow.

I have a PSAX but have never tried any other...  It's 62"s and even though it's a bit more poundage than I'm used to it draws smooth as butter...  I would like to try one of the PL's someday...

Love my PCH, shorter riser but still has a heavy feel, which I like. you won't know til you shoot them.

Can't go wrong with a BW though.

Thanks guys, still trying to decide what to get.

IMO, trade your lower weight for the heavier weight. Plenty trade down. Not so many up.
