YOU  have compiled a Mighty Fine  "How-To"  for the "Woodie Rookies"  AND  for those on the "Hairy Edge" of Going to Woodies, from the "Carboluminum Dark Side".     "Preference" is what makes  US  who  We BE!!   :archer:   Righty-O??  :biglaugh:

Nicely done! I recently finished my first woodies and am enjoying them. I'll be doing some more in preparation for the Denton Hill shoot in July.

This How-To will help me make the next ones even better.

Thanks!

Very nice presentation, and great looking arrows. I like Sitka Spruce also, and favor wood over the others. Thanks for taking the time to show us how you build your 3D arrows.

GREAT job on these fine 3D arrows. Thumbs up from Germany!!

Question: where did you get your sitka spruce shafts from? Supplier?
Jerry Hill - Stalker deluxe 69" 56@29.5
Osage Selfbow - 66" 53@29.5

Flying Dutchman

Thank you Vincent. I did get the shafts not from Hildebrand themselves but from a Dutch supplier.

good stuff, dutchman!  I like the cresting.
I use tung oil also.  It's easy to work, actually smells good, and leaves a durable, but THIN finish.  I've found that it also is less prone to target burn...

centaur

Love the cresting. I may have to steal that idea for some of my woodies.
If you don't like cops, next time you need help, call Al Sharpton

You're welcome Centauer, but then you owe me some pics when they are ready!
