I have been asked to shoot some rabbits on a friends land. The problem is I only have target tips or broadheads. Is it possible to use target points or will they just pass through and the animal will run off to die somewhere else. We are not near a store to buy some blunts which is what I need isn't it? can I fabricate a blunt using a filed down target point and some silicon or am I wasting my time?

not sure of the availability of them over there but.... also this is for wood arrows.

.32caliber casings and a piece of banding steel. cut a triangle shape from the banding steel cut a slot across the top of the casing after it's glued on the arrow and use jb weld or drill a hole and put in a metal pin or soldier or whatever would work in your situation, the banding steel point in the slot. Cheap easy and effective.

Or, put a wingnut or tee-nut behind your tagget point.

Definitely don't use just field points without some sort of attachement, they are very poor killers. Chris

Use the broadheads, as long as you are not around dogs or people. Broadheads will kill pretty quick even with less than perfect hits! Shawn

Are your rabbits pretty big?

If your arrows tips are screwin then add a 1/4 inch flat washer behind fieldtip with string wax to keep tight,I use this method for gophers,otherwise I agree with Shawn and John about the broadheads.Maxx

Broadheads do a number on the swamp rabbits where I live.

Well, I just fitted the washers, and guess what... My groups are tighter!! How very bizarre, looks like I could do with slightly heavier tips. Just waiting for the phone call, and it's hunting time. I'll still take the broadheads, they are just a bit expensive to go shooting at the dirt, and there's horses around, so I could become rather unpopular very quickly.

You really do not want to limit penetration, at my bunny hunts I have seen rabbits take several hits to kill them. We do not shoot Braodheads due to the dogs and people but a steel blunt works best for me, stick with the BH's as you will be better off! Shawn

Remove the field points and thread on a 3/8" hex nut. There will be about 1/2" of tapered shaft sticking out for penetration and the nut for blunt force shock. Best small game head I ever used.

I love old broadheads for small game. I haven't had as much luck with blunts.

Broadheads are perfect for rabbits.

I use Grizzly broadheads for rabbits. Tough heads

Much prefer BH's.
