i had a string break at the nock set dead center of the string one time on a black widow. i searched long and hard and never did find the top half of that string.  1996 bow sold it to a buddy and he still shoots it.

Well, I twisted up a new string, got it served and tuned and was shooting pretty well.  I went out this morning to fire a few arrows before heading to work and after I finished shooting I noticed that one of the strands in my bottom loop was completely severed.  I ran a q-tip through the nock groove again and didn't notice anything, but I did notice a bit of a sharp corner on the belly side.  I think I might sit down with some files this weekend and see if I can resolve this issue.  I can't believe I've been shooting this bow for a year now and this has just now become a problem, though.

well my bow that had a string break ended up  breaking apart a month or so after.  if the string break had anything to do with it but it could have

To bad about your bow.  I doubt the string breaking had anything to do with it.

In my opinion wood bows are very durable when it comes to dry-fires, and string breakage. NOt something you just want to go out and do, but they are resilient.

I'd think odds are pretty low that there is any damage to the bow.
