Back in October Nate started pitching the idea of a short R/D bow and I had the chance to check out one of the prototypes. He wasn't satisfied so he made me send it back.

I told him that ideally I would like a longer model made out of cocobola with lacewood veneers but to take his time as I've been more than happy with my Royal. After watching, waiting, and salivating for months over some of the Expeditions he's produced...it's finally my turn to gloat.

So...here is my Expedition with a twist: 64" AMO, 55#@30", cocobola, 3 layers of elm at the core, lacewood veneers, stagg and phenolic on the tips, and a gloss finish. Quiet, smooth, and fast (Nate says its a shade under 200 at the chrono). Pulls like a 45# to 30". I don't know how he does it. Perfect.

I've named her Lacie already. Seemed fitting.

Oh man, what a beauty! I love everything about that bow. Nate has really outdone himself this time Nick. Well Done on what you wanted in the bow, and Hats-Off to Nate for his outstanding craftsmanship! Congrats my friend.      :archer2:

Truly Nates best work,  love the Lacewood!  Hopefully we will get the Expis to the 3D range this week!

I made a mistake on the woods.

I've got 3 layers of elm, not bamboo. I asked Nate to choose and he went with the elm. I'm a big fan of elm cores. This is my second bow using elm.

There is also a layer of black glass.

I had him write "The way it should be." on the top belly of the limb (sorry for the blurry photo). That's the way I feel whenever I'm in the woods with my bow.

I like this one alot,  it looks like the riser is less "fwd" then the ones on his web site??

I noticed that too. I think it is because it isn't a 58" or 60" bow. Those models are a little more forward on the handle.

i see,  i like yours better as far as "looks",  real nice bow.

I do wish you guys wouldn't distract him whilst he's working on mine.   :nono:    :D

Radical hybrids don't quite do it for me....yet but there is something in this bow's proportions that is appealing.

Congrats and have fun.

USAFdad

That's just superb, absolutley gorgeous. An Expedition is what I'm planning for my next. I'll need to check into that 64" length.

Dodger, I'm not really into them either...or I wasn't...until I bought two. lol I'm really a D-style bow guy which is why I liked Bama's in the first place. But...these are growing on me and this one doesn't seem to shoot like most hybrids I've shot. I wouldn't call it "extreme" either.

LimbLover, could you expand on that please. My only experience with a hybrid is a mildly deflex-reflex Bear Montana which looks like a regular longbow when strung.

Thanks.

Like someone's already said, I love everything about that bow!

Well, I couldn't take it anymore and just got on Nate's list for a 2pc Expedition Hunter. I don't draw long, so the 58" should suit me fine.
