Guru, had you been down that stretch of river before to know there would be fish there? Also, is that a flat bottom canoe or are you a circus acrobat to be able to stand up in one while bowfishing?   :biglaugh:

Looks like a blast!  My buddy has a canoe that needs to get some use & I have a fork of the Maquoketa river about a mile behind my house, we need to try this.

What an awsome morning of bowfishing. We were into fish right from the start and were busy until the last minute. We floated roughly 4 or 5 miles and got 17 into the canoe.I got 6 and had another 3 pull off and Curt boated 11.This was a record day for both of us.I know I missed at least ten.We had to get out of the canoe a few times and drag over the rocks but were floating for the most part.Curt was on fire shooting ,even hitting one on the move after I missed.A day to remember. VTer,it is a flat bottom canoe and is very stable. Both of us could stand and shoot at the same time.

Yeehaw.  That looks like a lot of fun right there.  Catchin them hogs on a fly rod with a crayfish fly and sight fishing is a hoot too.  You guys got into some big-uns and put a hammer on some beauties.  Doesnt get any better!!!Thanks for the story.  When the water drops out here I'll be taking part in the same type stuff hopefully.
