Just wanted to see if any one had any experience with his bows,  He is a short drive away and a couple of his designs intrigue me.  Thanks!

I've heard good things about his bows.  I shot the Wildcat at Kalamazoo last spring.  You should go try one out; you may find you're living just down the road from your perfect bow.  He's a real nice fella, too.

I've had a 3 pc takedown longbow for 3 years now and really like it. Finish and workmanship is superb. Would not hesitate to buy another Hill Country bow.

I injured my shoulder (unrelated to archery) and may be behind that purple actionwood/osage Harvest Master this fall.  That bow really hums an arrow at 40#.  Very fast and fun for the weight.

He makes some great bows. I've seen Huntmaster shoot his and believe me they shoot as well as they look.

I have 2 of Romans bows, both are one piece longbows. Great bows.

wow!  thank you for the overwhelming response,  apparently I may have struck gold having such a talented bowyer in my backyard.  I am most interested in his forward riser design, the wildcat and would like to see how the shorter bows perform.  I have a 50" bow currently that I cant seem to shoot nearly as consistently as my 62" so I am looking for some happy medium.  Thanks one and all and keep the opinions coming

Matt, the Wildcat is probably Roman's best shooting bow. It is available as short as 58" and out to 64", is as smooth as butter and very forgiving.

My Wildcat will be done next week and shipped out.  I can't wait to get my hands on it.  It is the only bow I shot at the Kalamazoo Expo and at Compton that I couldn't resist ordering.

are there any distinct advantages to the forward handle/riser design that roman/black widow/habu are producing?

I have a Wildcat due in any day. Shot the bow @ K-zoo and fell in love. The bow is super smooth and quick but the thing that really caught my attention was how quiet the bow is. The bow that I shot didn't even have silencers on the string and was whisper quiet!
