Ever wanted to NOT like a bow?

Thing is, I'm a Morrison man. To the very core of my being, I am a Morrison shooter.
Ask anyone, they'll tell you.
I'll tell you.
Ask me what I shoot. What's my go-to bow? Which bow would I grab if the house were on fire?
I'll tell you; My Morrisons. Cheyenne, Shawnee, ILF, I have 'em & I love 'em. End of subject, no question, period.
.
.
.
.
.
And then.....

I buy this stupid, cheap-***, Hoyt nock-off, Reflex Nomad riser. I fit it with a pair of bottom shelf, low end, Black Max ILF limbs.

I hate how it looks.
I hate the idea of a metal riser, compared to one of Bob's sculptured Cocobolo & Ebony risers.
I hate the 'gotta have' camo finish.
I hate all the cutouts & threaded inserts.
I hate the bolted on, plywood grip.
I hate how that nasty, cheap, plywood grip nestles so perfectly in my hand.
I hate how the cutouts make the bow balance so perfectly & weight so very little.
I hate the fact that the bow is utterly silent, dead in the hand & takes no silencers to make it so.
I hate the fact that all my arrows shoot like lazers out of the thing.
I hate the fact that my first 3 arrows formed a 2-½" triangle from 32 yards, right in the 10-ring.
.
.
.
.
Well, I'm trying so hard to dislike this damned bow that's worth about ¼ what my Cheyenne is worth, but shoots every bit as well, but it's just not possible!

GAH!!!

I'd say as long as she performs well in all positions...it's all good.

Sounds like she's one you could use and abuse and not have feelings of guilt haunt you.

Nicely written, Rob, that's the loudest I have laughed in a good long while!

Maybe you could get Bob to whittle you an ebony grip for your new love... and don't be denying her, we can see the way you look at her. She makes you feel cheap and you like it! You even surprise yourself with your performance at the butts.

Go ahead, sigh, and relinquish yourself to your state. You are just a regular guy, like the rest of us. We have our aspirations, our hopes of refined glory, yes, we grow dreamy at the sight of Venus on the Half-Shell. But we marry the girl next door and find our glory in a pot of instant mac and cheese.

Human after all, dammit.    :(

PS, Congrats on finding the bow you have been looking for! Selling any Morrisons?    :bigsmyl:

I had a Morrison, nice bow....sold it! Then I saw an ad for Metal ILF Morrison...had to try it. It's all that you said, Ugly, drilled and tapped for all kinds of stuff, goofy grip, Flat black on this one. Just ugly. Got some cheap Trad Tech limbs......gee it shoots good! I can't explain it   :dunno:   !!
