Anyone switch between longbow and recurve regularly?

I go back and forth between recurves, longbows, and selfbows with no trouble.  It takes a few shots usually but that's no issue since I like to shoot anyway.  I always take a few shots befor I set up to hunt no matter what I am using.  Just don't think about it too much.  Let your mind to the tweaking.

I shoot both longbows and recurves pretty much an equal amount of time. What I have found is that with a "recurve type" grip on all of the bows that I own that there isn't any adjustment time when swapping out. That being said, I don't shoot any of the "straight type" longbow grips and I'm sure that if I did it would require some adjustment. I won't keep a bow in my stable that I can't pick up and shoot just as well as any other on the rack.

The GRIP..........is everything to me and my ability to shoot the bow consistantly well. If the grips are all very similar.........it won't be a problem.

Going from shooting my longbows to my recurve, I will shoot to the right the first few shots, then the old brain adjusts by itself. I don't recall ever shooting left with a longbow once shooting my recurve - can't explain that!

Swamp Yankee

Just started shooting a longbow this year, but I'll go back to a recurve in August to get ready for the hunting season.  It seems to only take me a few shots to adjust as well, but my confidence is with the recurve under the often less than ideal hunting situations that often come up and the shot is pure reactive instinct.

It actually seems to help my shooting if I switch it up every other day.

I shoot both no problem going back and forth
but, about a month before season I know what
bow I'm going to hunt with and thats the only one I shoot.

White Falcon

I shoot long bows, recurves and a "Dark Side" wheeler, with out any issues. I do take a couple shots with each first.

All my recurves have longbow grips. I can do it with no problem.

I shoot both regularly. No problems going from one to the other.

Shoot longbows, a recurve and selfbows, paying attention to form, is key to shooting any bow well.  Every bow I have that is above 50 lbs. should have the opportunity to draw blood, but I have to be shooting the bow good before it will go hunting.

I guess if we run into the bear that is making these tracks, we oughta just get off the trail.......He seems to like it!

Its strange but i have shot nothing but my D style Bama Longbows for the last year or so! But I got this 66in bear Polar recurve and have been switching back and forth with ease, my longbows are 50lbs and the Polar is a 48lb so they are very close in poundage! since I have been shooting the Polar, I am shooting my longbows better than ever go figure! They are all 66inchers!

I predominately shoot longbows but, on occasion will have a recurve around. Right now it is a Martin Dream Catcher and it is taking some getting used to. Now that I have it almost tuned, I am hitting my target pretty darn good. If my shoulder holds up enough though, I will be hunting with my longbow at the end of next month.
