I have a Martin Dream Cather 35"s @ 60"s .Have shot it for over a year w/o problems . Recently the lower string loop has come loose at full draw after abt 6-8 shots . I always use a stringer to brace the bow . Would appreciate any info to correct this problem as I really like this bow .

gto_guy

With the bow braced is the string sitting in the center of the limb or off to one side?

It braces in center , but as it is drawn it moves to the right . By twisting the limb in the opposite direction , I can bring it back to center . It takes 4-5 shots before this happens .

You might try drawing just 12" or so, and letting it down to see if it tracks off to the right of center.  This will tell you if your limb is twisted.  You should also be able to see if it is twisted when it is braced by gun barrelling down the length of the bow.

Martin used to be great with their customer service and if you had trouble with a bow they would replace it. Don't know about now but would call the Martin dealer near you and find out.

If it is indeed twisted, there is a good correction to the problem in the "how-to-resource' on here.  I recently straightened a bot limb on an old bow using a hair dryer. If  you do decide to use the hair dryer, GO SLOW. I found it doesn't take a lot of heat

if the limb is twisting while you are drawing the bow and or near full draw you may want to contact Martin.Thats not normaly a twisted limb but a weak point in the limb when it starts twisting near full draw bd

Tim Go to the Bowyers Bench . Thanks Bow Doc , I think this is the problem . I had no problem until I raised the brace height to 7 7/8" & put a vibration reduction system on the limbs which was set about 1/8" above string contact with the limbs . I removed the vibration suppressers . Next step is to lower the brace height . The bow is over 1 yr. old , so I doubt that Martin will help . Thank everyone for their help .

Tim,
The 'How to resource' is on the same level as 'Pow Wow'.  Just scroll down near the bottom of the topics.  There is a lot of good info. there.
