Last fall I gathered about 100 shafts that are right at 3/8" at the base, and am looking for a step by step pictorial how-to article on making cane arrows.  Anyone got the info?

hey rob, the fellow handling my website wasn't making enough money doing that kind of stuff so he shut that part of his business down.  i'm looking into finding another host.  have you been working on any cane arrows?

blackhawk, sent you a pm.

here's another set i made for testing.  i friend of mine has a chinese hornbow that he's having a hard time finding an arrow that will fly well out of it.  the arrows are sasa bamboo and are spined at 50#, 60#, and 70#.

Those look great. Do you get the river cane around here? I want to make me some since I'm almost done with my bow.

Pat B

Chris, are those river cane or switch cane? The diameter looks small for river cane.

i believe these are river cane.  they have a bigger diameter than the pic shows.  these are pushing 1/2" or a little better at the point end and a little over 5/16" at the nock end.

What is your process for attaching the feathers to the cane?

Mechslasher

i glue them on with a fletching jig and then burn to shape.  then i wrap with black silk to make sure they never come off.  i wrap all the fletching tips because i shoot off my knuckle most of the time.

I guess my question should have been, what glue are you using?

toppredator

Great job. Those are very nice looking arrows, I'm sure your buddy will love them.
