Like was said above....two totally different bows. Both have their fans because they are great bows. Bows are like boots.....some fit some don't. I have a Zipper that I really like, but would buy a Centaur if the right deal came along!!
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Zipper.  I love my new SXT and I'm more consistent with it than any other bow I've ever shot.  And, they look good.  I don't see too many come up for sale...

Two totally different style bows. Some will prefer one and some the other for different reasons and thier both right.

Zippers are great bow. I've owned 3 and they were a all nice recurves but the Centaurs fit me better and have a little better performance.

They're very different but the Zippers are gone and I'm looking for another Centaur.

:deadhorse:  ZIPPER still got two an always looking another...

DTD

They really are 2 different style bows. Both are excellent. It comes down to what you are looking for. That being said, I have owned a lot of different bows and the Centaur is my favorite. It is light weight, smooth, fast and quiet.

Everyone has there favorite..as long as you keep
shooting that's what counts. And having one more
Zipper on the rack.   :archer2:

This question isn't really about quality. It is more about type. If you like the longbow, go Centaur. If you like the recurve, go Zipper.

Both have an Excellent reputation. Both are well crafted. Both are proven to perform.

That said, I have to agree with someone above that stated don't get rid of a proven winner in order to purchase something you may or may not like. Instead, be patient...save the money a little every payday...and get on the waiting list. That would be my advice. If that is too pricy, there will always be another used bow around.
Until next time...good shooting,
Lee

Pretty simple answer.  YOu gotta have them both!

elkken

I've owned both and sold both ... very different kinds of bows to make a comparison. I had a Centaur Elite that really smoked an arrow and I had a Centaur Chamira that I just did not like. I had a really pretty Zipper that I liked but just had too many bows at the time and I traded it for some high end bino's. I liked the fit on the Zipper riser and as I recall it has some nice antler work on it, good solid bow. I shot a turkey with it but never took it after deer.
