Just read an article in the July Bowhunter outlining the "return" of the traditional line for Bear Archery.  Interesting article - anyone shooting any of the "new" traditional bows available through Bear?  Just curious - some look pretty in the pictures!

I bought one of the B risers with #1 limbs and love it... in fact, I just order a second one. Over the decades I have had Bighorn, Fedora, Palmer, Bob Lee, Groves, Assenheimer, DAS, and a few others and I put it with any of them and ahead of many.  The new TBM has a test on the Take Down done by Blacky and the Bear was only 3fps slower than his test of Blackwidow with the same gpp arrows.

It has the best take down system of any of the bows I have owned .. my opinion.

I have the Kodiak Magnum 5oth anniversary, not the prettiest on my wall but a shooter!  Its leading the battle for what I am going to hunt with this fall.  Ahead of bows that cost 2.5x it.  My .02 others mileage may vary.
More bows than I should have!

I have shot the new ones and REALLY liked them.  Problem is getting one.  I finally cancelled my order, but I admit to being somewhat lacking in the patience department. LOL

I suspect that I will have one when things get settled down.

How long is the wait for a take-down?

awbowman, I know what you mean, I ordered one then canceled after 4 months of not hearing anything.

I got lucky and found one in stock. B riser 45# limbs. Very nice bow, smooth and fast. Heavy riser!

I have a green strip, an A that's 5-10yrs old and this one is just as nice.

I just got my B riser.  I ordered it beginning of April.  thanks to all you impatient types that cancelled and hurried up my shipment :-)

Shot it for the first time today.  I am pretty impressed!  Need to do some tuning and put some real glue on the rug rest but all is good.

I got the new Super Kodiak Grayling Green. I like the looks and I like the way it shoots. But , after about 10 shots, it started getting those famous Bear stress cracks in the glass.

I have to say, more than the lack of patience (although I am VERY guilty of that), was the fear that "marginal" bows would be shipped trying to supply the silly number of orders requested.  If I am going to pay lower custom bow prices, I am going to get a top notch bow.

I am very conservative and will revisit the issue next year.  To me, the latch system is ingeneous.

Bear donated a beautiful bubinga riser TD to the Compton shoot auction. They also had a booth with a lot of bows. I think Bear really wants to get it right. The new bows look real good.

I love the bows but the new ones have wider grips (side to side) I loved my older slim line take down.  but other than that a nice bow

I have recently received my A-riser and with the exception of the rug rest it is perfect. I had it made without the threaded inserts. I also heard from my dealer that next year Bear is going to bring back the Black Beauty in a 64-inch length. I definitely think Bear is trying to get it right.

I shot them at Comptons and felt they are very ordinary shooters.  The Super K had terrible cosmetic blemishes in the green glass.  I understand it is a prototype of sorts but it would make me think twice if I were considering ordering one.  Not a good marketing move on Bear's part.  I would rather stick to the older classic Bears.

Bear are nice bows again, for a lot of years they went in the pooper! Quality is back and they are average performers as are Widows. Not knocking them as they are just not real quick compared to some bows I have shot. Shawn

These bows were at Compton.  Looked pretty impressive to me.  $599 for the one piece and $549 for the red/gray one.  That's my '64 next to the solid one.
