i was wandering if i got some easton 2512 could i make them work. i shoot a preditor @46# 29" arrows would like around 200 gr point up front

JimB

They would probably be my last choice.First, they are spined way to stiff at .321 deflection which would be some thing like 90#s.Second,they are monstrously thick in diameter, about .39" and that reduces penetration if you are a hunter, just what you don't need with a 46# bow.Third, the wall thickness is .012 which is thin, meaning easier to bend.

2016 might be a better choice.5/16" diameter, thicker walled and closer to the spine you need. You might even need to keep them a little longer.

thanks i was thing more twards 2117 it just there was some 2512 i could get real cheap

JimB

2117 are .400 deflection and would still be a little heavy.A good arrow though.I would forget cheap and get what works. An improperly tuned arrow will have poor flight and will squander a lot of your bows energy, resulting in poor penetration.Go to bowmaker.net and check out the tuning information.Really great information on how to tune arrows properly and he even has some aluminum charts to get you in the ball park with shaft selection.

Disregard Easton's own arrow chart as it is notoriously overspined.Crazy but true.

Check out the classifieds here. You may find some good arrows for a decent price.

thanks i will try that place easton said 2117 i dont know much about aluminum i allways shot wood but dont have time this season

What Jim said. You will spend the little on the 2512's realize they wont work and turn around and spend again on the right arrow, cost you more in the long run.
