I can't stop laughing!! Even though we are each on opposite coasts of the the country, it feels like you are right here in my living room.  I'll be at Denton in a few weeks...just remember don't sit too close to the fire, you might roll in like some of your friends

On a more serious note:

Kip brought me a trade knife from his friend in the bayou country.  Everette has No arms or hands but he still can make a knife and hunt with a rifle even a muzzle loader!  We had talked about a knife trade two years ago and it finally happened at week one.  Thanks so much Kip & Everette...Doc

I promised him pics when I brought the tippit knife to him.He wanted to know all about the bear hunt and really admired Jeffs knife.Today after work I brought him his pics the one from Canada and his pic and one of my bear that he asked for.Well I got there about 6:00 no one home so about to leave his Mother drove up

My Dad worked with a chap born without arms and he nailed nails, played guitar, etc.  Amazing what people can do when they choose to adapt vs. give up!

Work has been kicking my butt since I returned so it's been hard to continue the saga. To top it off the Tippit/Kip knife addition is such a great story. Tippet knives are very special and to come by one is the goal of many.

After leaving La Tuque, off to camp we rolled in the Bear Quest Convoy. Being a veteran of Bear Quest IV, I knew where we were going this time and I was puzzled why everyone came to an abrupt stop way short of the turn to Rothmans.

It was that darn Tom Phillips, who was leading the line, bailing out of that silver Tacoma to check the outmost bait site, the "Bucket Brigade" to see if it had been hit. Kip from week one had taken the biggest bear so far off it and Tom wanted to see if it was still active.

 

Driving this gravel road into camp from La Tuque can be pretty stressfull. All the traffic is people trying to get somewhere fast and to do that they use ALL of the road.

Bright lights on and watching for what comes around the next curve at 50mph heading your way on a slippery gravel road.

The logging trucks are something else, wish I would have taken some pics of the one that Jeff and I saw with a full load of timber at the bottom of a ravine after the road bed gave way underneath it. It was "pick up sticks" for sure.

Oh yeah Ben thats the real deal in my pic.I do not use it much for hunting but it looks good in pictures....
