I'm very happy with my Morrison Shawnee with Dakota L/B limbs for a smooth fast 60" bow and my Morrison "Mini" or 15" ILF risers with "D" length Carbon/Maple cored LB limbs for a sweet fast 56" or 58" bow.

I would suggest you look at a Firefly by Jim Jones. Great bows. smooth fast and quiet. Jim will do whatever it takes to make his customers happy. Great guy. Braveheart archery has stock bows from Jim ready to ship if you want one right now.

I second the Striker... It is better to shoot one, than take a chance on buying blind.

Dave at Schafer Silvetip Bows is making a take down longbow.  If it's anything like the recurves then it's gotta be pretty sweet!!  I'd check them out if you're in the market for one.

Come on up to Compton this weekend and try out a bunch of bows.  We'll have our Epic ILF risers and both the Epic and Legend ACS longbow limbs.

I would say that the bow someone is shooting is their favorite.  Sometimes they find one that fits them better due a variety of possible factors.  Certainly if you can get to Compton I think the best of all worlds is to see and feel a wide range of bows.  The vast # of quality bowyers and bows makes it really a personal choice. But I don't think you can go wrong with any of the bows produced by a bowyer that has built a reputation for quality work.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Shawnee, Cheyenne or ILF.. All can be had in a longbow or recurve.

Morrison Cheyenne or ILF, Fire Fly, Hill Country Wildcat, and ACS are my favorites so far of the stuff I have tried.  The Dyrad ILF with ACS limbs is very high on my try it list for this weekend.

I'll second the Silvertip Longbow. I've had mine since Dave first started making the 3pc, right after he did away with the 2pc longbow.Great bows, but aren't all Silvertips?

I like ACSs and Morrisons.

ive not had the chance to shoot most on the list,  but the Crow Creek Black Feather is alot of bow for the $, and can be had with recurve limbs as well.   Ive been shooting one with #50 recurve limbs over the weekend,  one of the best bows ive shot to date.

I havent seen Mike Hays "Black Canyon" Longbows mentioned yet,  Ive test shot one and it was right there at the top.  Had the best feeling grip ive ever wrapped my hand around.   I have one being made soon,  and will post a review when It comes in.

PRONGHORN! quiet, fast, accurate, & Herb is great to deal with.

Bowhunter4life

Morrison Shawnee gets my vote... I like the A riser with E limbs which make a 62" bow...
