Going to have a buddy do me up some pretty arrows, he's using a burner I've always toyed with the idea of a 5" high-back parabolic. In my head it's great..Anybody have any input or evidence to help me.

I used to think I needed them to stabalize my arrows. They look great but if the arrows are tuned to your bow you only need standard 4" parabolic's .

I love the burned feathers they look real !

Nothing as pretty as custom arrows.

The taller the feather the louder it will be in flight, although people say Parabolics are quieter than others.

Personally on he 3D course and stumping, I like loud arrows.  Make sure you post pics of your new arrows.
Relax,

I shoot 3, 5" parabolics and they're not noisy in flight. If the feathers start to get real worn and ratty looking, then they start to make a hissing sound on their way to the target. The hissing sound is their cue to me to let me know it's time to re-fletch the arrow.

I understand what the bigger feather does and like it I was just curious of that particular cut shape I've never herd of it being used.
Their will be  slight noise but it's give and take with the extra stability with a bad release or something.

Hud

Never been on the receiving end of one of my 3x5 or 5-1/2 inch 5/8" high parabolic arrows, so I can't tell what it sounds like before it hits.

Actually, the sound of a bowstring, picking up the flight of the arrow, and the thud when it hits, keeps bring me back for more. Never get tired of the twaang, thud, maybe it's the thuut-thud.
