that's "magua" - natural tempered tonkin cane limb veneers with the cane nodes darkened.  quite striking, eh?   :)

my current pair of 'hawks ... both 66" and both over 50# @ 29" ... one is a classic t/d w/lamboo cores and veneers under black glass and a solid cocobolo riser, the other is a 1pc w/solid boo cores and veneers under clear glass and a coco riser pierced with bocote.
