The ol' calculator has it at 3-5" feathers for my shaft length, however, these shafts have wraps, so, should I back off to 4" to compensate for the extra weight?

Geez, man, it is just a question. In fact, that is exactly the question I was wanting answered---I'm guessing 3 total inches of fletching go somewhere in the 6 or 7 grain weight range, so I feel that the question is legitimate.

Oh, light bow, and really light arrows, so yes, I think 7 grains on the tail can potentially make a difference.

All depends on how close your arrows are spine wise to what you need. Wraps are good for stiffening a slightly weak arrow. If the arrow is to the stiff side, sometimes you need to add a little weight up front to compensate for the extra spine. Most times they make no difference at all. Only way to know is to shoot them.

Some of us veterans have seen a lot of these questions asked too many times to count. Stuff we take for granted we forget we learned once ourselves. Next time I could be the cranky one and Orion or Rob might be giving you the answer. Thick skin and a desire to learn will take you far here.

No offense Spectre its just that their are a lot of guys that just as little as ten years ago would walk around with a quiver full of all different arrows. Some four fletched some three, lengths and spine would all very some, many with fletchings all beat up, some aluminums some woods, different types of woods even. So when we hear a question like that we can't help but wonder are we getting too technical?
No question however is a dumb/bad question.

I you use a clear over wrap like I do then that 6 or 7 grains that doesn't matter to some becomes 12 to 14 grains, plus the weight of the fletching, plus the weight of the nock. Are we counting yet?.

I'd say weight 3 feathers and see what they weight.  Wraps are probably 6-10gr.  Does it make a difference?  Yes.  Enough to be concerned about?  That's up to you.

Or go with calculator and make arrows 1/8" longer for the wrap.

Not sure if I did the right thing, but I increase the nock weight by 7 grains to compensate for a wrap in Stu's caluclator and technically it does make a difference in making your arrow a little stiffer.

awbowman, why would you increase the weight at the tail to compensate for the extra weight of the wrap? I would think one would want to decrease. Scratching my head now.

If you are border line too stiff it could cause you a little issue.  You can add a brass washer under your head or maybe just try a brace height adjustment to correct if you have that much room to adjust.  Maybe it would be a good time for a change to a skinny string if you don't use one.  Also you could add an aluminum footing if that is compatible with the shaft type you are using.

What I am doing is trying to play with the lunatic fringe of lightness. For some weird reason, I have a hankerin to shoot little lightning bolts at small game and 3D.

Just add the weight of the wrap to the nock weight.
