Spent the day with Mike Rash of Legends Bows and got into a little action. Here is a picture to get the imagination going. I have to go to school, I'll update it later.

We went to Boars and bows ranch about an hour and a half awawy from my house. The whole trip there we were seeing game along the road. Quail, turkey, rabbits, squirles, you name it we were seeing it. I thought that that had to be a good sign. When we got to the ranch, we looked down a canyon and spotted some rams. Could it get any better?

We got to the ranch house and got ready and started out after the rams we saw on the way in. the only problem was that they were watching the way into the canyon. We watched them for about half an hour and decided to just go for it. we had to belly crawl for an hour to get into the zone.

I was shooting a Legends Tornado 60" 53# @ 28" but I draw just about 30". A Carbon Express Terminator arrow with a 125 grn. Razorcap broadhead. It was my test run for the tornado and it performed great. I had a complete pass trough on the ram at about 35 yards. I had crawled for about an hour to get into position. Then I had to crawl past the animals a little farther to get behind some cover. There were four rams together. A Corsican and three Texas Dalls. The Corsican was looking my way the entire time I was crawling and I thought he would bust me for sure. He finally walked up the mountain out of sight and gave me and opportunity to get up on my knees and get ready for a shot. Mike had the video camera on the Dalls and was ready to get the shot on film. When I moved  out to take a shot the Corsican came walking back down the hill and stopped slightly quartering to me. I shifted and shot. The arrow flew true and disappeared right on the spot I was looking at. Mike couldn't even see him and didn't know what I was shooting at. The razorcap sure did it's job.

The best part is that that's not the end of the story.

Now for the rest of the story. After I shot the Corsican ram the Dalls didn't know what had happened. They just hung around. My buddy Mike told me that two of them were really good animals and that if I ever was thinking of getting a Texas Dall that now was the best chance I was going to get.
